Relationships Worth More Than Money Podcast

From NFL MVP Debates to Hip-Hop Rivalries: A Journey of Competition and Creativity

Tweezy Kennedy Season 2 Episode 4

Become a Relative & send some love

What if the true essence of success lies not in money but in the bonds we forge through sports and music? Join me, Tweezy, as we tackle the explosive debate surrounding the NFL MVP race, where Josh Allen's win has left many, including myself, questioning the decision over Lamar Jackson's stellar season. We'll celebrate the standout performances of Saquon Barkley and Joe Burrow before diving into the highly anticipated Super Bowl showdown. With the Eagles' relentless defense, I foresee a thrilling 34-31 victory over the Chiefs. But hang tight, because it’s not just about touchdowns and field goals—our journey extends into the pulsating world of hip-hop.

Kendrick Lamar's recent Grammy triumphs have intensified his rivalry with Drake, injecting fresh energy into the hip-hop scene. We’ll explore the power of competition in driving creativity and innovation, while also shining a light on recent releases from Tyler, Freddie Gibbs, Larry June, 2 Chainz, and EST Gee. The possibility of a Kendrick and SZA Super Bowl halftime show ignites our imagination, and I share updates on my latest projects, including collaborations that push artistic boundaries. Don’t miss out on the celebration of music and creativity, and remember to stream the impactful album "919" as we anticipate a resurgence in hip-hop culture.

Speaker 1:

Yo, yes, sir, yes, sir, yes, sir. Welcome to Relationships Worth More Than Money podcast. This is Tweezy, you know your neighborhood hero, but no man. This is the Super Bowl edition and the reason why I did this one because I wanted to touch more back on like music and sports. Back on like music and and sports. And this is, you know, the sports and music edition. The sm still. Relationships worth more than money, um, but more more of the. You know, sports and music. But I want to, I want to touch back on a few things. Um, please, make sure you all are subscribed, make sure y'all like, comment, share.

Speaker 1:

We on the rise, man, we on the rise, and I'm in great spirits, you know, just chilling. You know, I was supposed to shoot a podcast today but, you know, this crazy weather Kind of knocked a lot of the stuff off. But what we're going to do is, you know, kick it off. So last week we had the NFL honors this previous week and I was a little bit upset because not only did my boy get shafted on the MVP, but I listened to a few of these NFL players explaining why they picked Josh Allen. Shout out to Josh Allen, by the way. They picked Josh Allen. Shout out to Josh Allen, by the way, but I just thought it was just crazy how your stats could be. They were great, great stats, they were good stats. Great is a reach.

Speaker 1:

The reason why I say that is because 28 touchdowns, six interceptions. It's kind of like the same thing Lamar had when he won MVP last year right, with 12 touchdowns, but only 400 plus rushing yards, right. But my thing is, if Lamar did that last year, right, he did that last year. But this year he has 41 passing touchdowns and 4 interceptions. So that's an 11 to 1 ratio, touchdown to interception ratio, right, and he only had what? 4 rushing to interception ratio, right, and he only had what? Four rushing touchdowns.

Speaker 1:

And y'all gave the NFL MVP to Josh Allen 4,000 yards, over 4,000 yards. So he upped everything, everything Matter of fact. Hold on, let me get you the actual stats. So I don't even want to, because it's all audio. Only we ain't going to shoot the video version, the vodcast, ever, anything like that. So, yeah, yeah, we just going to pull up Lamar Jackson's stats real quick, because I don't think you know what Buddy did this year 66.7,. So we're going to go with a 67% completion rate 4,172 yards, 41 touchdowns, four picks, four interceptions right. Last year he won the MVP 67 completion percentage, 3,600 yards, 3,678 yards passing, 24 touchdowns, 24 touchdowns, seven interceptions. Three-to-one ratio right Three-to-one ratio and he threw 41. So he threw 17 more touchdowns and three less interceptions, with 119 QB rating right.

Speaker 1:

This is where I have the issue, because let's talk about it. The issue because let's talk about it. One game, let's one game, let alone. Let me see one, two, two games. I'm just, I'm just calling a spade a spade. Two games this season, two games this season.

Speaker 1:

Josh Allen didn't even throw a touchdown. One was November 10th, marine Corps birthday, versus the Colts Zero touchdowns, two interceptions. Then against the Ravens zero touchdowns, zero interceptions. I'm just a little bit baffled here. I'm a little bit baffled by the stats. But another part I want to bring up is Josh Allen had 27 first place votes, 22 second place votes, one third place votes right. Lamar Jackson had 23 first place votes, 26 second place votes, zero third place right. So it was between Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson. I truly believe Saquon and Joe Burrow should have definitely had more, more votes in that first place, because Saquon had a hell of a season and Joe shout out to Joe Burrow for getting that comeback player of the year.

Speaker 1:

But man, come on, man, like what are we talking about? You give Josh Allen the MVP, but Lamar Jackson is the first team All-Pro. Make it make sense, y'all Make it make sense. I'm just saying. I'm just saying Anywho, neither one of them Made it to the Super Bowl. We got the Eagles and the Chiefs and the Super Bowl, who y'all got Me personally, I just want to see a great game, that's all.

Speaker 1:

I'm rooting for the Eagles, but I mean the Chiefs win too. There's no harm, no foul on my end. I think both are great teams. Nfl got to do something with these refs, because if y'all going to do that, then I need to go ahead and just get back into some NFL-type shape and go out there and be refs and just call what I want to call. But that's another topic and another discussion we can touch on another time. But yeah, chiefs-eagles, chiefs-eagles.

Speaker 1:

My prediction is the score will be 34, 31. Eagles Say it again 34, 31. And I need, I need to Go holler at them. Betters, those bet apps Need to get some sponsorships. But yeah, 34, 31 Eagles. And I think the Eagles are going to come out hot, come out swinging and, being that they played them before in the Super Bowl, I think they got more film on Spag. Spag is one hell of a defensive coordinator over there at the Chiefs, I think. Of course, you know Andy Reid, one of the greatest coaches in the NFL, will have some tricks up his sleeves for sure. But I think Kelly Moore and that offense is going to do something different for the Eagles man and the defense over there is just crazy. Automatically, I think that's what's going to separate the game. But I think they're going to come out swinging and I think the Chiefs are going to be fighting from behind the entire game. So, who knows, if it's a great game the Chiefs win, hey, congrats.

Speaker 1:

My Ravens not in. Everybody knows I'm a Ravens fan. Ravens, we will be there next year. Few kinks we need to fix and we there. I don't know if Andrew's going to be there next year, but we still got likely.

Speaker 1:

And I like Kohler too. Man, kohler reminds me of Andrews, but I mean, I get it, man. You know big time players make big time plays and I don't want him to beat himself up over that because you know it's a lot of things that caused us that game. I can't put it all on Andrews, but yeah, also shout out to the Detroit Pistons. Yes, by the way, I am a Detroit Pistons fan, red Wings fan, tigers fan, just not a Lions fan. For the simple fact I know everybody be like how the hell? You a Ravens fan so, growing up, you know, on the east side of Detroit, barry Sanders was our hero man, you know, and when I seen how they did him so dirty man, even not even trading him, like if y'all would have traded him, I still would have been a Lions fan. But the fact that y'all didn't even trade him and y'all had him out here grinding and hurting, kind of like what y'all did to Megatron, but y'all made it right with Megatron and you know y'all made it right with Barry.

Speaker 1:

But I left man and I was just like a free agent, teams and stuff and I was liking the Bucs back then. You know cousins and family can vote for that. I was liking the Bucs but Ray Lewis and them men had just left, the Browns had dismantled their team and they moved to Baltimore and purple was the Ravens' colors purple, black and white. And the crazy thing is me playing pal back home for the Raiders purple, black and white, that was my team, that was my colors. Home for the Raiders. Purple, black and white, that was my team, that was my colors. So when I seen them go to Baltimore with those colors, I became a Ravens fan.

Speaker 1:

And yeah, man, you know history is there. You know, barry Sanders, deion Sanders, were my favorite players. So when I seen Deion over there, I'm like, oh yeah, yeah, we good Deion Shannon Sharp Ray. Like, oh, yeah, yeah, we, good Deion, shanna Sharp Ray, lewis, jamal, lewis McAllister, chris McAllister. Man, we had some dogs, some dogs. Boulware, oh, man, we had some dogs over there. We still like, you know what I'm saying. The Ravens is known Airy, we're known for having some stellar defenders. But we're coming better and I can't wait to see who we draft in this year's draft Offensively, and I know we're going to get some dogs on the defensive side because they know what they're doing over there. But yeah, man, that's how I became a ravenous fan.

Speaker 1:

For all of those who inquire, like how you a ravenous fan, but you claim you from detroit and this, this and that. That that's how. That's, that's the answer right there. So you guys don't gotta ask me no more. You'll never have to keep going back and forth trying to debate on my teams, because everybody knows my teams. Now I will say I am individual players. I love individual players. Of course, you know Brian. You know Jordan when he was playing Kobe. You know Jordan when he was playing Kobe Excuse me, kobe AI, ray Allen, man, it was just man.

Speaker 1:

I used to collect all those basketball cards as a kid and I just, strong Mile Swift, like all of those guys man, me and my cousin Buki we had every card, rookie card from the 96 guys, and I'm so pissed Like somebody stole my cards. Somebody stole my cards and I had some. I know they would have been worth some money. Man and John. Shout out to John JP, he had some nice cards too. He had a collection of cards too.

Speaker 1:

But yeah, man, sports, sports, music. Let's get to this music. Man, because K-Dot came through and swept the game. Man, it's just crazy. Man, I'm just baffled off the fact that he came and won those awards off of a battle song, which is, I don't think has anybody ever did that, anybody ever Win a Grammy off of a diss song?

Speaker 1:

Let me see Hip hop. Let's go to Hip Hop Awards 2025. Shout out to Dochi. She's been super, super. I've been rocking with her since she came out a couple years back. She reminds me of Missy man her flow, her delivery, her charismatic character, like it's just all energy man, and it's always a vibe when I hear one of her songs let's see, let's go.

Speaker 1:

We in the Grammys, we in the Grammys, let's look, let's look, let's look. Read more. Or shout out to Beyonce. Or shout out to Beyonce yo, he was going against record of the year now. And then the Beatles, texas Hold'em, beyonce Expresso, sabrina Carpenter, 360, charlie XCX, billie Eilish, birds of a Feather, chappelle, wrong, good Luck, babe Fortnite, taylor Swift, post Malone, and he won that joint Record of the year.

Speaker 1:

Album of the year. Shout out to Three Stacks man. This joint made it Album of the year. New Blue Sun. Beyonce won that joint Song of the year. Not Like Us, doosan Beyonce, that's right. Song of the year. Not Like Us.

Speaker 1:

Producer of the year. See, this is where this is me. I'm a producer, by the way, engineer producer, but mainly producer. This is one of my goals Producer of the year, to be on that. Gotta get on that joint, or it's hip-hop. 335 nominations, I mean 335 wins. 1,643 nominations. Best rap song Not like this.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so I mean this the fact man, kendrick, kendrick and this Drake beef, I felt like it was great for hip hop. But also, with it being great for hip hop, I also feel like it kind of like people got scared or something Like I don't understand, like how we got great music from both Drake and Kendrick and Kendrick came out on top of the battle and everybody like just fell off Like I've been listening to music, man, this is my ritual every day. Every night, at 12 am, friday morning, I'm looking at the new releases and I can honestly say it ain't been a lot of good releases, man. It hasn't, man, it hasn't. I can tell you, let me see Going down.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, not a lot of good relations, man, and I'm super disappointed because it's like everybody dropped the ball because Kendrick and Drake was going back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, and then boom, kendrick hit him with the bomb and then everybody was like, dang, what are we going to do with music now? Because everybody picking sides, which you know, at the end of the day, man, spade to spade, you got good music, you got good music. So I ain't knocking Drake because he makes good music, but at the same time, this is hip hop of spade, you got good music, you got good music. So I ain't knocking drake because he makes good music, but at the same time this is hip-hop like you gotta have some battles here and there and it doesn't have to be a instant or a continuous beef. This can just stay on wax and I think a lot of times, uh, people just forget to just leave it there and just keep it moving. Hey, take that L, because I look at it like this, drake killed Meek on that back-to-back, on their whole battle right Then Kendrick came and Kendrick always been that. I'm going to still push the needle Like, yeah, we boys, but then I'm still coming after y'all. I just want y we boys, but I'm still coming after y'all. I just want y'all to know I'm still coming after y'all. And Drake you know Drake doing Drake things you know took staves back at him. But my thing is that's the sport of hip hop. You can't have great music without that friction in between. That's going to ignite better lyricists, better lyricism, better art, better production, better videos, better everything. You know what I'm saying. So I think me personally that this was great for hip hop, but I felt like everybody else dropped the ball because everybody was just waiting on Kendrick and Drake to do something. Kendrick and Drake, kendrick and Drake.

Speaker 1:

But I will say Chromacopia, tough, chromacopia is tough. Anything that. How am I drawing a blank right now, tyler. Anything that, tyler. How am I drawing a blank right now, tyler? Anything that Tyler drops is fire. And then you know, I got my little A&Rs, alicia and Atlanta, tootie and Atlanta. They definitely had me listen to it in the car when I pick them up from school. So Chromacopia is fire. Freddie Gibbs drank fire. I'm looking through right now.

Speaker 1:

Larry June and 2 Chainz just dropped. I got to finish listening to that EST joint. Estg dropped. I got to finish listening to that. But lately, yeah, it's just been here and there like singles. You know what I mean. Sorry to Kid, he just dropped. I gotta listen to his. Dj Cho's just dropped. Gotta listen to his Rallo Zaytoven Trapper's Paradise. Who else Just going over the releases man Real Free.

Speaker 1:

I think it's like a deluxe edition. I rock with the releases man Real Free. I think it's like a deluxe edition. I rock with the Real Free joint. Who else? Who else? Oh, john Connor, shout out to John Connor. Man, super, super fire. Shout out to Shotta. Shotta got some production on there too.

Speaker 1:

Sound Cartel Big extra plug. Take Care was cool, I don't know, man. Like I said, like it's, think about it, like Ain't a lot of stuff really. I mean, I'm seeing a lot of Releases but I don't If I don't know who they are. Like, I try to like Listen to new, new artists that I never heard before releases, but I don't know who they are. Like, I try to like listen to new artists that I never heard before, and then I just turn it off. I just turn it off, man. But yeah, gnx, that's my favorite album of this year, well, 2024.

Speaker 1:

And every artist that's on Gen X, doty 6, siete 7, az Chike that's my favorite artist, favorite artists out right now. Az Chike is fire dog and Peso. Az Chike and Peso. Young Threat Hitter J3. Everybody that was on that album dog and Peso, az Chike and Peso, young Threat Hitter J3. Everybody that was on that album, tough Lefty Gunplay, even though he had a short part on there, man, they put this album together Together.

Speaker 1:

And so what I do too, man, every time my kids ask to play a song and they got a sample in it, I always go back and play the sample so they know where it came from, because I don't want them to think that, oh, this is their song, they created this and they did this. No Kudos to the production, because they fired, for even going back and reaching to like the Luthers and the Squabble Up sample, like that right there, is just legendary in itself. You know what I'm saying? Debbie Dabb was the artist on Squabble Up. So yeah, for those people, man, like those artists fire.

Speaker 1:

So what I did was I went back and started listening to their music and I'm like, oh, yeah, they nice, these youngins coming up. And yeah, man, music. And I'm like, oh, yeah, they, they nice these youngins coming up. And yeah, man, um, oh, you know what halftime show which I got on it, hey, I think Kendrick and SZA gonna kill it. I really think Kendrick is gonna, you know, to be fire if he brought out, if he brought out Drake for the Super Bowl, that'd be fire. But I know he ain be fire. But I know he ain't going to do that. I know he ain't going to do that, but yo, he definitely got to do some drinks off of Gene X. He got to go, he got to just go crazy, though he got hits, so it don't matter what he do. Sza got some hits too. So the whole TDE man Shut up the TDE Y'all killing it.

Speaker 1:

Music is I hope it it does a turnaround, cause hip hop Definitely has been on the decline, even after Drake and Kendrick's little Not little but B for battle. That battle was crazy, but I look forward to 2025. Oh, me and Swim, we working on some music or battle. That battle was crazy, but I look forward to 2025. Oh, me and Swim, we working on some music. We don't know what it is, what we going to call it Joint instrumental tape Big Ten. I'm working on another collaboration album, big Ten, big Ten. I don't know when it's going to drop, just know it's in the works. Big Ten is in Ten. I don't know when it's going to drop, just know it's in the works. Big Ten is in the works.

Speaker 1:

Who else? Oh, artists, artists, serious artists that take their craft serious. Get at me, let's work, man. If you, if you really, if you ready to work, if you ready to work, you ready to listen, you ready to take the criticism, you ready to push the needle forward and be great, hit me up, man. We definitely can work. And, yeah, something slight, short, quick, in and out. Single double. Oh, and if y'all haven't got 919, please go and stream that. You know In-N-Out Single double, you know, oh, and if y'all haven't got 919, please go and stream that. Download that. Purchase that Great, great, great album that I dropped last year around my birthday. But, like that man, you know who I am, I'm Tweezy and we out. This is just worth more.
